Arnold kind of gets shite on in this movie by his brat kid and lazy wife.

Why is Arnold chasing around all over town to find a toy, when he already has to work his arse off at his job? And then his wife tells him he has to stay home from the Christmas parade while she let's the neighbor who has been flirting with her all day drive her? And Arnold just takes that?

The kid who has a nice warm house, food, and everything tells his hard working Dad he always let's him down because he might have to miss a parade because he was trying to find a toy all day for him all over town?

Also, Sinbad's character committed some pretty serious crimes, that seem to be overlooked. Kidnapping, terrorist bombing of a building and severely injuring police, reckless driving, assault multiple times, theft, etc. It seems at the end, this was all pretty much dismissed.

How did Sinbad even know that he needed to get in the parade as the villain and they were giving away a Turbo Man? Arnold kind of got into it by luck? If Sinbad knew about this plan, why didn't he just try to become TurboMan?

Jingle All the Way is my favorite holiday movie because it kind of perfects the 90s holiday movie trope of every character being terrible (The Santa Clause, Christmas Vacation, Home Alone, etc), nobody actually learns anything, and the audience is asked to just be cool with it because: Santa. It’s frankly the most honest depiction of how people tend to be around the holidays: selfish, manipulative, deceitful, and willfully naive. It also amplifies my enjoyment of Its a Wonderful Life, White Christmas, A Christmas Story, and A Christmas Carol just because it’s a nice juxtaposition to those classics

It is the most thought provoking commentary on the commercialization of America and commercialization of a sacred holiday. Which in turn has completely transformed a holiday focusing on the birth of our savior and time as a family into a mass produced corporate commercial in order to fund retail corporate America

This may in fact be the most important film of our time.

Was this Sinbad's biggest role? I usually only remember him in this and Necessary Roughness.

The nerve of that guy to try to put drivel such as it’s a wonderful life and the others anywhere near the social commentary that is Jingle All the Way

The mid-late 90s was also the peak of Christmas craze shopping. Tickle Me Elmo was around 96/97 I believe, who made headlines for all the fights between parents.

Jingle All The Way perfectly captures what was actially a real thing before online shopping killed it.

Hey now. No need for the hostility. Some people like to turn their mind off and not be challenged when they go to the theater and it’s ok if that’s you. You rattled off a litany of those so I made an assumption. It’s not a negative one.

For the more refined palate the Christmas movie of choice is Jingle all the way.

This has become one of our favorite movies to watch each Christmas. Some great lines.

Love the movie, and you are right. I always hated how the wife and brat kid treated Arnold.

Phil Hartman was so great. RIP

One of my favorites around this time of year.

As another poster said, this flick really personified the hot Christmas item craze in the 90’s before online shopping.

In the wake of the failed TurboMan hunt, Howard Langston has some serious shite to clean up…such as his stripped SUV in the hood(I think the black diner worker was in on it) and fricking up Ted’s living room.

This is perfect!! Beautiful description of the great 90’s films. Also the 90’s was the last true Black Fridays, I remember stores opened at 6 and each one had different giveaways for the first 100 shoppers. Great times.
