It's amazing to see how smart common sense seems to us when we hear it these days. Corporations get so caught up in the latest acronyms and fancy terminology that, let's be honest, more than half of their people don't understand anyway that they completely whiff on things that could improve their product/service.
A simple decision like making the holes in the seasoning shaker bigger so the fries taste better could end up being a massive decision when extrapolated over time and it didn't take a ridiculous initiative to make it happen.

Why does every single piece of media need to be narrated by a woman through vocal fry in a low tone

Love the ceo discussion. No complicated algorithms or complex processes.
The secret was to just make their food better.
Really a great interview. Thanks OP for posting it.
Makes you wonder if some of the other chains they mentioned could have been saved with some of the simple changes Chili's made.

I saw the Chilli's commercial the other day and said "That looks like a tasty burger"... I am going to try the whatever special it is...

In the late 90’s and early 2000’s the Chili’s off College Dr and Constitution in Baton Rouge would have an hour long wait on Friday and Saturday evenings.
I was working there at that time and it was great. The regional manager was there one day and told me that before the seigen location was built, that the chilis on constitution was the number one chilis in the nation.

Popeyes appears to be doing fine from a numbers perspective so the group that owns them could care less about service performance.
Popeyes should merge with MMA and work that angle.

I had their brisket quesadillas the other day, you guys gotta try them.

Not mad at a chilis but going outback. I’m assuming they are always part of the same Homewood suites/ movie theater conglomerate. Always walking distance from hotel.

This feels like Juneteenth, because the Shreveport Chilis still hasn't gotten the message.

We ate at the location in Shreveport a couple of weeks ago. I'd give it a solid 8/10 for fast casual. It was almost like walking back in time. We were greeted, our server was great, the manager talked to every table, and the food was hot and pretty tasty.
On Youree?
We swore it off after 3 bad visits over a year ago. We used to go every other week or so for decades.
Maybe it's time to try again.

Had them the other night but they definitely tasted different. Not bad but different

Chili’s bounce back is almost entirely due to viral social media videos. That is a fact.
Their stock performance is directly correlated to the viral videos, which originally started in early summer of 2024. Their stock price has gone from $54 to $160 during that window.
I didn’t watch the video in the OP, but if he didn’t mention that, he’s a liar.

Chilis is one of the few chain restaurants that I still enjoy and is consistent
Posted on 4/23/25 at 11:05 am to saintforlife1
The 3 for me is about the best value there is
About the same price as a fast food combo meal but much better burger and enough to feed 2 people

Kids can eat at places like Chili's and Olive Garden for cheaper than many fast food and fast-casual restaurants.

Always been a fan of Chilis and love going. The food is good and price point isn’t much higher than fast food.
I hate they closed the Siegen location because it was closest to me but it was needed. It was so poorly run and always a crapshoot on whether you’d get even the bare minimum service. The Millerville & Gonzales locations are great.

Cleanliness, freshness, simplicity and service. It’s crazy to see all the bad restaurants and they all focus on the wrong things. They’ll have 90 menu options but can’t execute any of em, the place is filthy and understaffed.

Love Chili's on Sundays for NFL. Sunday ticket, 3 for me with Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas, and $4 tall Coors lights.
