Vivek said it on Ingram’s show. Dems using it to test Biden and replace him at the convention if it’s ugly. That’s the first thing I thought of when a June debate was announced. Highly unusual to debate before the conventions. Technically neither is the nominee yet.

He was already going to be replaced by Newsom.
I like your theory though.
I still firmly believe that this isn't about Biden at all though. Biden might think it is, but he's the only one. This is about casting more negative PR on Trump. Everything the establishment machine does, is done to cast more negative PR on Trump.

That was the first thing i thought too. My first though was Trump should have agreed to debate him as soon as he was confirmed as the nominee. At the very least we need more people to be aware that this is their strategy, so when they do it will be so obvious that it will reduce the impact. Just imagine the party that has been telling us for years that they are protecting the democracy, throwing the man who won their primary off the ballot and installing someone who no one voted for at the top of the ticket.

Trump could get them very easily by simply saying, "This debate is for the 2024 election and moving the country out of the hole that the Biden admin put us in."

Trump isn't exactly some debating savant Joe actually got the better of him in the debates in 2020. You clowns nominated literally the only guy Biden has a chance to beat

Trump will be debating 3 people at the same time: Biden and the 2 CNN dickheads. I have no doubt that CNN will be coordinating with the White House on questions that will be asked and how to plan their attacks on Trump. He has no choice.

I've yet to understand any strategic advantage for Trump debating Jotato at all, particularly debating Jotato and agreeing to the format Jotato's handlers have demanded. Makes no sense.
