Throughout his life, Alexander received a law degree, passed the bar, opened a successful practice and became a published author
quote:
Despite being bound to the ventilator, Alexander was able to paint and write a book

Having learnt to improve his memory enough to not need to take notes, Alexander graduated from W.W. Samuel High School aged 21 as one of the areas fist homeschooled students, and the first to graduate from a Dallas high school without physically attending a class.
Alexander earned a bachelor's degree and then a doctorate in Law at the University of Texas at Austin in 1978 and 1984 respectively.

In 2020, Alexander self-published a memoir, 'Three Minutes for a Dog: My Life in an Iron Lung', which according to The Guardian took eight years to write by poking at a keyboard with a stick in his mouth, or by dictating to a friend.

Over his life, Alexander has still managed to travel by plane, live alone, attend church, visit the ocean and even find himself in a strip club.

That man deserves our respect.
Think of how miserable he was but he made the most of it.
He wrote books, lived day to day like a borg.
Can you imaging having to do body functions living in that?
I'd rather die that live like that.

I assume you got the shot and multiple boosters. I also assume you got Covid more than once. So please, enlighten all of us. How is your beloved shot a vaccine if it doesn't actually prevent you from getting it?

Dude was also a lawyer. He passed the bar exam and even wrote his own 150 page memoir. Half the mofos on this thread can't even spell right.

I remember back in the 1980's, there was a guy in an iron lung that lived in Baton Rouge...somewhere on Jefferson Highway I believe. The Cub Scout troop I was in visited him at Christmastime for several years. I don't remember his name though.

Yeah! Just think. A couple of Covid shots would have ended his misery by blood clot or a myriad of other unidentified maladies.

I had a cousin in the early 1950s who caught polio and was placed in an iron lung. We visited him one time. I was young and it scared the hell out of me. He died not long after. Maybe the best thing that could have happened.

For real.
I'd honestly be interested in hearing about that guy's mental makeup.
Who voluntarily lays there like that for decades?

I had a friend, Dianne Odell, who at the time of her death was the longest living iron lung survivor. Look her up. She was amazing.
