I will bet you they all had jobs back in Ill. that req. them to remain res. of that state and were treating this as a second job. And I also bet that one of the questions asked was if they had another job. People SHOULD be fired over this, but we all know nothing will happen.

The article was updated after it was posted here but I thought the writer suggested that was a strong possibility. Hopefully someone else will remember if it originally said that or not.

You guys are the worst. You cant fire them until they havent complied by the deadline.

Now they are fired. Who fricking cares?

You idiots think LSU cant demand a talk with a coach, but now want them firing administrators because of a stupid fricking vehicle registration issue?
My God ya'll suck

Dan Layzell execu VP of Finance. They were all supposedly friends before he got here.

I wish I had a friend get me a $270,000 a year salary.

The big question for me is, how do you turn that salary down for something as simple as registration and taxation? Was this not their main job and if it wasn’t how can they afford to turn down such large salaries? Where else are they getting paid?

Uh...the deadline is 30-days from hire date. They were all hired in 2017.

The State should, as well as other administrators at LSU and LA tax payers...

Not a vehicle registration issue...a state law.

You spelled "y'all" incorrectly.

So you take a job in Louisiana and then live in Chicago. Who is hiring these people? That is the people that need fired!

They have a multitude of gigs...IT jobs? Meh

Theyre probably making killer money working for a number people. If they can commute to LA, and pay rent for an apartment, and then tell LSU to piss off without a second thought, theyre doing well

Was JBE doing Obama a favor by hooking up his Illinois friends?

That’s what I was thinking. How ironic is it that the only 4 employees involved just happened to be from Illinois?? Really??

Professors & researchers aren't considered "Unclassified" per the LSU website. The law JBE helped pass does not apply to them.

LSU HR Classification of Employees

R.S. 42:31

quote:

A. Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, any person hired or employed in an unclassified position as defined by the State Civil Service Commission, and whose annual salary or rate of compensation is equal to, or exceeds one hundred thousand dollars, shall, within thirty days of being hired or employed at such salary, provide proof to his public employer that he has been issued a Louisiana driver's license and that all vehicles registered in his name are registered in Louisiana. This requirement shall be deemed a qualification for the position for which the person was employed or hired, and for the duration of the person's employment in the event the person's salary is increased and the requirements of this Section are triggered.

Article X, Section 2 of Louisiana Constitution

quote:

(B) Unclassified Service. The unclassified service shall include the following officers and employees in the state and city civil service:

***
quote:

(9) teaching and professional staffs, and administrative officers of schools, colleges, and universities of the state, and bona fide students of those institutions employed by any state, parochial, or municipal agency;

This is going to sound crazy but it sounds more and more like LSU has been infiltrated by plants. The way FKing and Alleva has been running things and now this?

Could all of these people be political favors from and for Democrats?

I think you may be more correct than you imagine.
If you remember, it was said that had Hillary won the election, then F. King was going to get an appointment by her. This article in the New York Times quotes our boy.

LINK
"F. King Alexander, the president of Louisiana State University, says he is encouraged by Mrs. Clinton’s plan but wants her to emphasize the need for the federal government to work with states to ensure that they do not continue to defund their universities. He fears that universities will increase tuition to take advantage of the federal government’s generosity.

“You can’t have a free-tuition plan without stabilizing state investment in higher education,” Mr. Alexander said.

The prospect of well-to-do students having a free ride is also a concern. The income threshold, which would be $85,000 in the first year of the program and increase gradually to $125,000, is a subject of debate among experts."

And yet another article that points out more clearly the Hillary/Alexander connection.
