Pretty sure most people want LSU to be better all-around, but carry on thinking you are above those that want this change.

My dislike for King started well before the Will Wade stuff.

I am so glad LSU is making moves to put actually respectable people in a position of power.

King has significantly lowered LSUs admission standards in order to bring in a higher enrollment which could very well hurt academics in the future.

This is a valid argument

I would also rather have someone at the helm who has experience leading an institute with a large Greek organization as neither of the schools he was at before had that.

This is a bullshite argument.

I'm wondering why this is a Rant subject. The president should be first and foremost responsible for the academic well being of a university. If you are arguing he should be dismissed because of an athletic misjudgement then I would argue you don't care about academics and should STFU. If you can make an argument he hasn't improved academics then lets hear it. But it seems most are against him for athletic reasons. Or maybe the rant is for all things LSU? I always saw the rant is a place for athletics.

The mob is a beast. I doubt many here worry about academics. It shows

Greek life is the largest and most historical organization on campus with over 5000 students. Would you not rather have someone with experience working with them when incidents do occur? Not at all saying that he should be replaced on this alone, but this on top of the fact that the overall academic performance of the school does not seem to be improving does not help his case.

In my opinion, it's a detriment to academics. Not that there shouldn't be Greek life, but your statement is indicative of the entitlement Greeks have at lsu. Greeks should enhance University culture rather than create a distraction.

Anyone making an excuse this is just about academics or General WW they are just doing that...making excuses and overlooking reality. This is about academics (lowering standards), fundraising, PR disasters, athletics and amateurism in what is suppose to be high level professionalism.

If so, can we put a statue of WW next to Shaq?

Yep. Not sure why there are Alleva/king apologists in here whining. Change is long overdue. Long overdue.

The knee jerk incompetence that we saw in their treatment of Will was just the last straw, but no it’s not just about athletics. Athletics, whether certain folks like it or not, is what brings visibility to most major universities, however. It does matter.

All we’ve heard for years is that Alexander only cared about academics. That’s fine. I think that’s what college is really about too. The problem is he’s shown himself to be an incompetent leader on that front as well.

It’s time for change and to put LSU first. I’m proud to see Richard Lipsey and others leading the charge to do so. I know Lipsey absolutely loves Will and maybe one day we can get statues of both on LSUs campus. What a glorious day that would be.

Don’t know much about Purdue’s president but I have read about how embarrassingly deplorable the condition is of on-site medical facilities for Purdue athletics — LINK. If he had something to do with that, that needs to be addressed if he is supposed to take King’s place at LSU.

While I doubt you have any inside information, I did want to say this. A shite load of ranters said they would donate once King was gone. We better all handle up on that.
