Sources saying there's nothing to these rumors. The governor and board have given endorsements recently to FKing and no moves are being planned other than him moving to the LSU house by campus.

Take it for what you will, but hearing these rumors jump started because his house listed and nothing more than that.

He also just got a contract extension. There’s nothing besides this dumb house angle as the reason that he’s leaving

Even if this is a rumor, he must feel like shite now, knowing that everybody outside the governor's mansion wants him ousted.

"Everybody" would be a stretch, either way. But I have had quite a few conversations with folks about him needing to go. I know very few people who frequent this site.

The English language is going to be boring once we get to the point that figuratively "every" word is taken literally.

Indefinite pronouns like "some, many, and most" exist inside our language and help define things while not being definite.

A&M is a lot tougher to get into and you know it. On average, you have to have a higher GPA (3.65 vs 3.44) and SAT than you do at LSU to get in. Acceptance rates don't mean anything unless you know the academic level of the application pool. I know for a fact many of the kids I talked about don't even apply to A&M or UT because they know there is not a chance in hell they get in. OU has a similar GPA and SAT for kids admitted as A&M. Texas Tech used to be the fallback for DFW kids but so many smart kids can't get into UT and A&M and apply to TT and now TT is now really tough to get into. Even Arkansas is tougher to get into than LSU.

Mother of God Will Wade is truly the GOAT if he brings about both the firing of Alleva and F. King

Not saying LSU should not be concerned about admissions standards, but keep In mind that LSU operates in a different market. The college age population is in decline in Louisiana, indeed in most states other than Texas, Florida, and maybe Georgia. Texas has a much larger population than Louisiana. As a result, the market allows A&M to be more selective. LSU’s mission is primarily to educate Louisiana residents. LSU should be focused on that mission. It should recruit the best in Louisiana. It should also attract well-qualified out-of-state students to enhance the quality of the school. But it also has to have a sufficiently large population that supports programs that are needed for a significant research university. Whether LSU is more or less selective than other schools in the region is only part of the picture. While important, there are other factors, like competitors in the same market, the available pool of potential students, etc.

I haven’t followed King closely enough to comment on how well he has or has not done his job. But I do know that managing a university in the current environment of rising costs and a declining pool of available students will challenge any college president.
