Ultimately, Jay gets a big raise and gets to stay where he wants to be. It's good to be at the top of your profession and have a high market demand.

And he deserves a raise honestly. DD was the coach for 6,000 years and didn't win a championship. She did a good job and everyone knows she was a good coach and was good for LSU gym, but she coached forever and never won a natty. Jay wins one in less than 5 years. Pay him and keep him.

Gumbo, no Gymnastics does not make $$ (profit). Most sports at LSU lose $$ and in the red every year. As of 2023, the only 2 sports where LSU was in the black were Football and Men's Basketball. Football is and will always be the KING of revenue. Football's revenue helps to pay the other sports. The other sports are always in the red (expenses always exceed income). Interesting note---since Kim Mulkey arrived, the largest increase in ticket sales the past couple years (other than football) was Women's Basketball.

I mean, I wouldn't be THAT upset if she left.

Beam dramatically improved this year. And her event literally won us the national title..

I have expressed my criticism over that event and gnat actually did a great job this year. They adjusted, developed Ballard on beam, more importantly they finally didn’t compete like a nervous wreck on beam, beam was one of our best events down the stretch this year

Need to?

Who pays better than LSU these days? That list has to be very short.

I know. Doesn't change the fact that I don't think she's a great beam coach. Beam was impressive this year, especially towards the end of the season.

I'm not saying fire her. I was halfway joking, hence the emoji. But I'm not going to pretend I would lose sleep if she took another job.

Raises and new contracts are in store for Clark and assistants Garrett Griffeth, Courtney McCool Griffeth and Ashleigh Gnat, sources said. Details have not been announced.

Jay may have had discussions with the Griffeths about long term plans . Perfect scenario would be he coaches another 5 to 6 years then retires .
The Griffeths raise their young family without the pressures of being a head coach and then take over the top spot. Bugs enhances her resume for a few years and gets her big opportunity at another SEC program or gets teh LSU job if the Griffeths decide to take another job in a few years.

Skip was the best baseball coach but not spectacular as AD. Hiring Laval and letting Pat Henry go over money and facilities were not good decisio to say the least.

Jay does not win this national championship without the facilities that DD got built. They are the best facilities in the nation and DD raised money, begged, pleaded, and raised more money to get them built. She was head coach for 3 years after we got them and came in second twice (being robbed by the judges in 2019 or she would have a championship). You don’t know what you are talking about.

Maybe they should have never fired him to begin with and they wouldn't have to come back begging looking like morons. Comes off pretty pathetic, although their AD is an LSU grad and very good guy.

We’ll get a taste of this soon, but with a distinct basketball flavor.

This is sort of a big deal as all coaches outside of Gnat are UGA alumni, with McCool having been on multiple nation title teams there.

They just fired McCool's teammate. I'm sure they're confident in their coaching abilities but part of them has to think they're gonna do the same "alum from the glory days is back" song and dance then run me off just like her.

I'm addition to facility issues, Pat Henry also watched Pokey get promoted with a salary much higher than his, even though he had a room full of NC trophies. I think that pushed it over the top for him.

UGA supposedly offered upwards of $2million which is insane for a gymnastics coach.

KJ Kindler (OU head coach) base salary is around $400,000.

Not sure what LSU negotiated with him but the fact that they persuaded him to turn down $2 million is impressive.

I just read his timeline. Did Georgia fire him as head coach in 2012?
