Sheesh, people. College is for the STUDENTS. Make it easier and cheaper for them to attend games.
The university should NOT reduce the student section. If the students choose not use their tickets, so be it. The school and the team is for them. The rest of us just enjoy it vicariously.

Suspend priority seating for Greeks or any other group with reserved seating that show up late and leave early. That would go a long way to getting attendance up.
Bama did this earlier this season. Not sure what results were.

I like the idea of getting in on your ID, but that would also have to bring back a student fee for athletics, if I remember correctly sometime in the 80's there was a lawsuit on that fee. end result was the system LSU has today
I learned about that on in Law school. They charged the guy with theft i think. But you can't steel entertainment, and they guy gave him the ID willingly.
I really like the idea of letting all the students in first come first serve. I feel like there are a lot of 2.0 and below student who would stay longer than a lot of them sorority girls.

serious question...what did LSU do differently for the Arkansas game? There was clearly more people in the sections under the score board and less people around 225-228. Did they sell those tickets to individuals or did they some how shift where students were sitting to make it look better?

I swear, y'all are all the biggest bunch of pussies ever.
Nothing needs to happen to the student section. If it weren't for us, you could hear a pin drop in the stadium. You secretly love our fiascos, and you're just absolutely jealous.
I get it. You're old as balls and have nothing else to bitch about. So, here's an idea: GFY.
So cool man. Soooooo cool.
You fricking morons act like no one else in the world has ever been a student at LSU. That's the problem with your whole damn generation. The bottom line is you idiots don't fill up your section anymore. Time to sell those seats. Oh, and get the frick off my lawn punk.

Every year since we've played Arky on Friday LSU has given students the option to buy Arky tickets. And every year they sell what comes back to them.

You must be a fricking bureaucrat. Got damn that's a lot of shite.

Well thats just false
What about every other season ticket holder seat that goes unfilled? Should they lose it? Oh wait student seats are the only ones ever empty

LSU has sold the Arkansas game as a separate ticket for a while. A lot of students don't buy tickets to the Arky game, so LSU sells the rest to the general public.
I think what a lot of you are forgetting is that LSU sells out the student section (like the rest of the stadium) so they don't care if students (or Joe Blow in section 425) come late and leave early. LSU gets their money, so nothing will be done (or should be done). The students are there: when I was in the student section we would pack in about 35 ppl to a 20 person row, the only way to "fill" the SS is to police ticket locations for students. (i.e. I have row 2 seat 5, friend has row 2 seat 6, etc, etc.)

Uh, no. We were all students at LSU (at least most of us) and will, to a person, tell you that the student section is not nearly as loud now as it was in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's or early 2000's. It has been my experience (albeit anecdotal) that the South End Zone is louder than the student section.
I will give you a bit of advice from someone who has been out of school for over a decade. Your elders on this board can see issues from the student perspective and the alum perspective. You can only see them from the student perspective. These folks realize how stupid they were as 18-22 year old students and are pleased that someone older than them offered them some insight and guidance into issues like these. You too will have this epiphany one day.

LSU, and its football team, is for the students.

And as an alum, you should recognize that the school exists for the students. As alumni, we should be advocates for the students over ourselves and the administration. That means encouraging students to participate in the fabric of the school community--not bitching that we can't buy their seats.
If we, as alums, create a hostile environment for the students, students will go to schools that are more "student-centered."

Ok. Try to have LSU or the football team without the alumni, boosters and season ticket holders, moron.

I read it just fine. The football team is not just "for" the students.

Florida game this year
Take all the people in this section and pack them into the bottom, see how empty the top would be. It's a stadium wide problem, not the SS, exclusively!
