Me either. The point is the players are there to go to school as well. They interact with the people in the student section on a daily basis. Players like Brandon Harris can go anywhere and play football. They come to LSU because of the intangibles that the student body brings. Decreasing the student section sends the message to recruits that the student body is not as important as alumni that show up 7 times a year for a game.

Bama took away student tickets this year and they were fine.

I've already said this a few posts up. Attendance was a problem all over the country this year except @ A&M apparently. I read yesterday that they're capacity for the year was 105%. LSU's was 97%.

So why are you arguing like an idiot?

Seems like you understand the issue, technology has devalued attending sporting events

Because I watched that section fill up almost an hour before the Arkansas game and it looked great, especially on TV.

Claiming the TS atmosphere is just because of the students

No one said that

The bottom line is we, current student & alumni/season ticket holder, need each other. Every game this year that upper part of the student section was empty minus Arkansas. Taking those seats away won't do any harm to the rest of the section.

I agree with you here

When we win 2 in a row then we can worry about doing things like Bama.

Again why should only the students have to suffer for a stadium/nationwide problem?

This!

I can tell this is going to be a long off season with some of the rantards here...

You think this will happen every game if they sell those tickets though?

They get a lot of people looking for single game tickets because they're in town for Thanksgiving. They won't be able to sell those tickets so easily every home game

You can go to a school like Southern Miss if you want free student tickets.

$100 for the utility of having season tickets to an outstanding football program is a bargain for any student in any situation.

Oh, those tickets will sell. Now whether the people show up every game is another story. The new South Upper is going to be real interesting. I'm not sure if the top of that thing will ever have people in it at this point.

In 5 years, LSU's home schedule may consist of only teams from the 5 BCS conferences...imagine a seismic shift in college football where the 5 power conferences break away from the rest of Division 1.

I know you're half joking, but anyone who knows how long the season ticket waitlist is knows there are people that are extremely happy to finally be given an opportunity to attend in the new addition of Tiger Stadium.

You obviously didn't understand so I will elaborate further. The players spend half their year on LSU's campus. The student section is an extension of the student body. I guarantee they care more about it than the rest of the stadium hence they sing the alma mater with the student section. This in no way takes away from the rest of the stadiums importance on game day but the student's in that section are the tip of the spear that gets these guys to come to school at LSU and in turn play football for our beloved tigers.

I went to the Kent State game and would have gone to UAB had I not had a family wedding. Furman, I agree. I think the SEC needs to follow suit with the B10 and stop scheduling opponents outside the FBS.

Some people just enjoy watching the team play. Plus, these are great games to take your kids - should you need to leave early for any reason.

The Kent State game was like Chuck-E-Cheese.
