LSU has way more mediocrity, and two of their three NCs are tainted (split title and a fluke 2 loss title).

OSU was gifted a title with that PI call. Plus LSU beat them H2H in 2007.

How many top finishes do either have if OSU plays in the SEC West and LSU in the BG10

I would tip my cap to Ohio States consistency. They are the flagship program of the Midwest and are always very talented. I tip my cap to LSUs 3 national titles. Agreed with posters on LSUs strength of schedule. SEC West is brutal.

Even without looking at numbers, I would have guessed Ohio State. We’ve had way more down seasons. Our conference was much harder for much of that time, though.

LSU would have struggled with Penn State and Michigan State and whoever came out of the other division from 2013-2017. LSU went up to Lambeau and looked like complete shite against Wisconsin in 2016.

Not sure if it matters, but I believe LSU played the eventual national champion in the regular season 8 times in 20 seasons. Ohio State did it once.

Ohio State.

If this was 1999-present, it would be 3 to 3 in NC. If it were 2002 - present it would be 2-2.

The only advantage LSU has is because you picked 2000

(Only including regular season for obvious reasons.)

Big 10 hasn’t done shite outside of OSU. They’ve always had the easier path.

Ohio State has a stronger resume, but only because they do not have a Bama in their conference.

What? In which 3 seasons has OSU won a NC since 1999? They only have 2 since the 1970s.

And LSU has 3 since 2002.

What is OSUs record vs the SEC since 2000?
They play in the horrible big 10 who has had no other team play in a title game in the past 20 years. LSU plays in a conference that has 5 teams that has been in title games. 4 of the teams multiple title games.

Wrong on both counts.

5 titles in the SEC is greater than 10 titles in the big 10

I’m going to pretend you’re a UGA dawg instead of LA tech and ask if you’d like to start counting at 1980.

I’d imagine like 2-2 maybe? Haven’t met in the regular season that I can recall. Beat Alabama and Arkansas, lost to UF and LSU.

Yeah, LSU either won the national championship or beat the national champ 4 times since 2000. I think Alabama can count 6 like that. UF would have 3. No one else has more than 2 IIRC.
