why cause they went 15-0?

More like they faced the toughest schedule of all time to go undefeated.

7 of the top 25 in final AP. 5 of the top 8.

That’s why they’re the best in at least the last 20 years.

As far as the OP, LSU is the answer. Level of competition is why.

LSU and Oklahoma are the only two teams since 2000 to not have a season with less than 8 wins.

What's your definition of lower?

I mean, losing to Troy and having maybe the most toxic, divided fan base at the end of Miles / beginning of O.

Again, it’s stabilized now and is absolute fire, but I think people are dismissing how bad parts of LSU was recently.

I didn't know going under .500 in 2011 puts you in a title conversation.

IMAGINE if year in and year out LSU's biggest competition was WISCONSIN. Literally the can drop 1 game a year.

Wisconsin is No. 7 among P5 teams in wins over the last five and ten years. Continue to act like we’re dog shite, though. Wisconsin is, quite literally, a Top-10 program.

quote:

Hell one year Wisconsin once won the Big 10 in 2012 going in with a fricking 7-5 record. 7 and fricking 5 and won the B1G 10.

Wisconsin won the B1G in 2012 because two other teams were ineligible for postseason play, not because Wisconsin was the best option. Someone had to play Nebraska, no? 12-0 Ohio State couldn’t. Jesus.

The answer was OSU before this season anyway but now...

I think LSU fans forgot what happened at Lambeau during H2H competition. Wisconsin isn’t a dog shite program but they never seem to be able to put it all together at the same time. Once they get over the annual “Badger Letdown” then they will enter the playoffs.

Ohio State has been way more consistent, but I would rather the LSU championships

Ohio State has two national championships which is one fewer than LSU has over that same time span. It’s not like they’re Georgia who’s consistently very good but keeps falling short. Ohio State’s had plenty of recent championship success.

I just remember it being solely a 3/2 debate which makes sense. However, if EVERY season counts as 5%, then OSU clearly has the better resume. For example, LSU has 2019, but OSU has 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2020

I think some of it had to do with volatility too. While not horrible, OSU had that 6-7 year in 2011. The worst LSU W/L record since 2000 was 8-5... until this season.

That gives LSU the higher "high" (15-0) but we also have the lowest "low" where LSU could easily finish with only 3 wins this season.

True but then again no one else in last year’s playoff beat 7 top 25 and 5 top 8 teams nor did they have 5 first round picks and 14 players drafted

That plus Bowl records makes me think LSU probably has played a tougher schedule

Need to look at the bowls they played in and the competition. Ohio State has played in more of the big bowl games.

Is this where we count Texas as a top 10 win?

You just used 2016, 2017, and 2018 as examples of dominance. What was the final score of that game in 2016 against Clemson? Y'all weren't competitive on a national level those years. Congrats on the Rose Bowl wins against sub par Pac 12 teams

They are Greece. They are Paris. They are art. Better to have loved and lost than loved and held on. It makes you appreciate the love. They are jazz notes echoing through the streets of Marigny and OSU is the top 10 pop station playing in a Ford Explorer. I for one choose art
