You bring up the title where LSU beat down OSU head to head?

LSU won more national championships, averaged ten wins per season over twenty years and did it all while playing Alabama, Florida and Auburn EVERY year (eight championships between them-eleven if you include LSU).Ohio State never played a team in their league that won a championship because no one else in their league did. Those extra SIXTY games over twenty years was a LOT harder than playing Michigan, Iowa and Penn State. I'm guessing if the Buckeyes had to play Bama, Auburn and Florida EVERY single year, their record would be a bit different.
I think this is a valid answer.

The fact that LSU is within shouting distance, with a schedule disparity that bad, means a lot.

There are, I'd say at least 2 seasons where LSU would have won the national title if not for another SEC team- 2006 and 2011. You can say 2006 is iffy, but 2011 is absolute.

If '19 LSU was just an "average" national champion then I'd be inclined to take OSU, even with the title discrepancy, owing to OSU's absurd consistency during that span. But '19 LSU was the best college football team since at least 2001, maybe longer, and that puts them over the top for me.

Regardless of resume, LSU has felt like the better program given the totality of circumstances the last 20 years...but it's close.

Agreed that it’s close. I guess that makes LSU the 2nd best program of the past 20 years.

Also surprised we haven’t seen any Ohio State fans chiming in with a stance.

Really?

We’ve been repeatedly kicked in the stomach the past few days. One of the last things we want to do is have a pointless dick measuring contest about it.

IMAGINE if year in and year out LSU's biggest competition was WISCONSIN. Literally the can drop 1 game a year. To ooc or Penn state or whoever. And then play Wisconsin every single year to make the playoffs. It's a joke Mich st has been horrible lately. Mich has been below average. Penn state is usually pretty good. On par with Florida the past few years(who is LSU's 3rd toughest game per year most of the time.). LSU Would have won the BIG 10 every single year since 2000 maybe once or twice if they played in the B1G 10.

Hell one year Wisconsin once won the Big 10 in 2012 going in with a fricking 7-5 record. 7 and fricking 5 and won the B1G 10. And they won the B1g 10 70-31 over Nebraska. That just shows how easy it is to win the Big 10. Let me reiterate. SEVEN AND FIVE. And yes OSU was suspended. But that just shows even more how trash the conference can be.

Figured this was a chance to go to bat for your team and ignore the current predicament.

Two plays would have changed that natty list to 4-1 (ISU missed FG and Phantom PI)

The goal of every season is National Championships, Bowl Wins if not

I mean if one team is in the Rose bowl and another is in the music city bowl, those aren't the same at all.

OSU had the most BCS wins. OSU was 6-4 in BCS games while LSU was 4-1.

Do we take into account that every single big bowl game/national title game LSU has won has been in Louisiana?

Ok, but that argument cycles back to the strength of conference debate given the auto-bid awarded to conference champions.

Ohio State played in a weaker B1G, giving them the opportunity to play in more BCS bowls.

LSU then won 80% of their BCS bowls, while OSU won 60%.

It's circumstantial, and I hardly think you can hold it against LSU. The SEC's bowl tie-in is the Sugar Bowl. They also won the Fiesta Bowl in 2018 and multiple Peach Bowls.

If you could trade a 2011 title for the 2-loss 07’ one, id say LSU. But Ohio St just by a hair. The les miles factor losses it for LSU.

The 2011 title would still be Les Miles, bruh. You can at least say 2007 was partly Saban. 2011 would’ve been 100% Miles.

Of course, but it didn’t come to fruition. 2011 & 2020 would have been the two best CFB seasons in the last 2 decades,
