Ohio State had a losing record in 2011

If we weren't on a pro SEC website this is not a debate. OSU has been far superior.

Look at this stellar list

quote:

Chick-Fil-A Bowl
Outback Bowl
Music City Bowl
Texas Bowl
Citrus Bowl
Citrus Bowl

That is a 6 year stretch of bowl games in the last 20 years for LSU.

Since 2000, OSU has only been in a non marquee bowl game 4 times. LSU did it 6 years in a row.

This is not even a real debate and is just a 3 vs. 2 argument. LSU has them there no debate

If we are talking overall resume

That’s weird to me.

LSU was the best team in the country in 2007. There is no asterisk necessary.

I mean, that’s a pretty significant part of the debate.

Damn, y’all would rather those bowl wins than another NC I guess.

Congrats on having better non championship bowls. I guess LSU fans will just cry into our extra national championship trophy.

I'd take the extra championship over the slight advantages everywhere else for Ohio State.

Ohio state has had an easier path for the last 20 years and all they have to show for it is “we played in better non National Championship bowls.”

Imagine bragging about that.

You’re comparing two decades worth of teams not just 2007. It’s a championship, but the cheapest in those years

So you are saying that the big 10 has been a tougher conference than the SEC since 2000???????

How many Rose Bowls do you think OSU would trade for that NC? A few at least, right?

I just think you’re discounting it too much. When you consider the conference disparity, LSU’s 3v2 gives them a slight edge IMO.

Look at the resumes, you have to split hairs

I mean you would think the SEC was the AFC the way people talk about them.

Bama was AWFUL for the first 8 years of the 2000s. Auburn is an 8-4 team with a few really good years in there. UF has been good not great outside the Meyer years.

We are talking overall resume, that's literally the question. National titles obviously matter, but we also know that crazy things happen some years (2 loss conference champions getting in, 1 loss non division winners getting into the playoff etc).

LSU fans act like they catch all the bad breaks here. OSU was a WVU choke against Pitt away from likely having another title, and LSU not even being invited to the 2007 game. OSU was an easy dropped TD pass away from beating VY in 2005 when no one else could and likely playing USC later. OSU had a great chance to go back to back in 2002-2003 if Maurice Clarett didn't go off the reservation.

OSU has been in the title conversation for 20 years straight; LSU has been in and out of it over the same time period.

Again, LSU fans can and should point to NC trophies. It doesn't mean they have near the overall resume OSU does since 2000

Give me LSU because of the 3-2, no losing seasons, and clearly the best team over that run (2019).

Ohio State’s consistency is impressive, even considering the obviously weaker competition. It would have been a less stressful experience being an OSU fan.

If you think OSU is ahead, fine, but to think LSU isn’t close is crazy.
