Why wouldn't they use the guy in the episode?

They'll probably just use this guy again and do something with his age if necessary. He'd still be laying decrepit in his chamber at this point

Deadpool would be awesome in the Fallout world.

frick the dated graphics and play 3 and New Vegas. The freedom and world is so amazing it doesn’t age. I’d kill to go back and play them for the first time.

Play New Vegas for a teaser to season 2

I never played the games either, but watched and really liked the series.

Game Pass has 3, 4, 76 & New Vegas

Am I going to be lost if I jump into 3?

All of the games work stand-alone.

I'd recommend playing New Vegas (tGOAT) first. It has the best story, and the world is legitimately affected by your decisions.

4 has the best gameplay, but worst story and only an illusion of decisions affecting the world. Still a lot of fun, though. Fallout 3 is somewhere between the two. 76 is multiplayer, so I've never bothered with it. My understanding is that it does have some story/lore, but pretty limited.

Fallout 1 and 2 are great, but the gameplay is extremely dated.

How did hank have the power to blow up shady sands? I guess it was by contacting his superiors with wherever he was going?

Also in the vault when they were moving to the “recolonize” 32 why were there guards?

Devin from severance tried to run back and the guards stopped him.

They just appeared out of nowhere and never explained nor questioned

Hank really didn't recognize Moldaver in episode 1 when they were introducing one another for his daughter to get married?

I don't see why he would have. She wasn't a Vault-Tec employee.

Like I said previously, she was either one of the many people frozen for that program or she snuck her way into it.

Yea only reasonable way they would have known what she looked like was if anyone went to the meetings that he led. Maybe she snuck into being a Vault-Tec Employee at some point, but she probably disguised herself some.

Eventually Hank did realize who she was and told her as much.

Hank was pretty low level too. He was a new executive assistant to a mid-manager in the flashback and his cryp pod still said executive assistant on it. Probably only met important people in passing. Then tack on 20+ years and it'd be tough to remember Moldaver

Nah, jump into Fallout 3 first. It is a blast.

I have it running on my PC from Steam and it is running smoothly with only a rare issue.

Fallout NV on Steam was wonky and froze up non stop in places. I could never go through the door in the bus that separated Freeside and the Kings area.

I also have FO 1, 2 and Tactics but they are not necessary since the show is more base on Fallout 4 it appears.

Loved the show. Cant wait for the next season.

I decided that I was going to replay New Vegas, and discovered that there is a good amount of downloadable content that I have never seen/played.

This is going to be a GREAT replay!

Have fun, it is a great game when it works.

I too am enjoying this Fallout Show. I have to admit that I was a skeptic, "Here we go again with the strong infallible woman lead" but was quite surprised how they have developed her so far. I am only done with episode 3 by the war.

So far so good.

The only thing I've found that doesn't work with NV is the initial load when you first start the game. Easiest fix is to start a new game, skip all the intro cut scenes, when you finally are in the game, load your save file. Otherwise, there's a good chance you'll get stuck on the loading screen if you just "Continue".

For those who want to try Fallout 3 on PC, first thing you want to do is find the executable file, go to properties and click "Run as Administrator".

Then find the config file in the same folder and do this (found on another forum):

"This is the multicore fix and is one of the most important things. You should do this for Fallout 3 and New Vegas if you have a quadcore processor (or any processor with more than 2 cores). The Gamebyro engine (which runs fallout 3 and NV) has issues with 2 or more cores. This fix forces the game to run on two cores. It will fix a LARGE majority of crashing for most people.

Go to /Documents/My games/Fallout 3/
Find fallout.ini
Open with notepad
Use find (Ctrl F) and type "bUseThreadedAI=0" without quotes
Replace "bUseThreadedAI=0 " with "bUseThreadedAI=1"
Add an extra line and type "iNumHWThreads=2"
*If you STILL have a lot of crashes you can reduce that number to 1 but it will effect game performance. *
I did not have these two lines of text but after adding them the game works fine."

I finished season 1 last night. It was entertaining overall but I really didn't like the way they presented the Brotherhood. It just felt all wrong. The power armor looked good though aside from the way the helmet opened and the little arm jets instead of a jet pack. The lack of NCR was troubling too considering they control the west coast at this time and the Brotherhood out there is fairly weak.

I don't quite understand the way they're presenting ghouls. Non feral ghouls have to take some kind of drug to stay normal? They can get shot and not be hurt? This didn't make sense.

Howard did an interview with Nolan recently (I'll try to find it) and said the NCR is a LOT bigger than Moldaver's crew and pretty much hinted they would be a big part of season 2. And I think they nailed the Brotherhood, bunch of holier than thou assholes.

And I really did like the creative change they took with the ghouls. In the games I always just assumed that the difference between turning into a ghoul or a feral ghoul was due to either how much exposure you got or maybe some people responded differently than others. But this method makes sense. At some point they all will turn feral, but you can take this drug to help you keep your "sanity".
