Caught a dozen or so today. Almost all on senkos. Tried to force feed motion baits an had little success. All very shallow.

I haven't tried the crappie yet, but plan on doing it next weekend. Should be moving in really good with all the warm weather coming this week.

Alx, this time of year they usually pile up in Blue Lake and the Preacher hole like crazy. They must not have been in there last week yet though, we bass fished up there and only saw 2 or 3 crappie fisherman. When it's on there will be 40 a day, even during the week

I did that once with a local. We found the spot by searching for boats

The LDWF sprayed the piss out of the grass for several years. That said they recently haven't been spraying as far as I know.

But had nearly zero effect on hydrilla.

I have a camp there. last year the sac's came in the negreet around march 3rd. I was fishing this past weekend and went to my usual spots. on the texas side there is grass everywhere but no bait fish. and no sacs yet. don't know! The bass fishing was terrible too. It was 28 deg Sat morning and only caught 9 bass all day mostly on jerk bat and a few on 10-xd. 25 ft deep or so. going over to the camp again this weekend hopefully the wamp temp will bring them up closer. Nobody was fishing the chicken coop and blue lake. it's like the are still up north a bit. Water in six mile was dirty, but housen bay was crystal clear . You could see 5 to 8 foot down

I fished the North End yesterday in a protected spot from the wind with my son. He threw a jig 2.5' under a cork in scattered grass in 6-8' of water. Nothing. I was ripping a trap in the same grass. Nothing.

I caught one 12" bass shallow on a chatter bait and he caught one about the same size on a mini whacker.

We fished 8 am- 1 pm. Called it a day... I was disappointed.

We had our best day at the split between Six Mile and sandy. They wanted Senkos fished really slow. I tried like hell to get them to bite anything else and had very little luck.

The backs of some of the La. side creeks have some kind of weed coming up and you can get bit on a spinner bait. lost a good one on a white chatter. Firecraw was not nearly as good for me.

We saw no one fishing for crappie.

Depends on what you are fishing for. Bass i fish south! I will be south. the bass are there I seen them on live scope. Just didn't bite last weekend for some reason. Sacs i would go around Zwolle area. Blue lake should have them with this good weather. The water temp last week was around 53.4. sac's and bass spawn at 55 water temp.

I didn't see any sac's on live scope in my usual spots! where i catch them every year! I have a few spots where I know of huge brush piles. nothing! And no bait balls! usually they are everywhere! BUT THE BASS WERE ON THE BOTTOM!

Same. They have to be in transition. If one stumbles upon them it could be fun. Probably traveling the guts of the spawning coves.
