Dude is clueless. Raised in a bubble. I’m currently raising mine in a bubble but exposing them to how society breaks down in this manner. Perspective is coming to a city near everyone on a scale never before seen in the US. By 2035 we will have at least 2 major metro areas completely erode into chaos.

Get out of major metro areas.

Jackson is 80% black, completely controlled by Democrats and has been forever and has it's 7th consecutive Black Mayor in office now.

It's puzzling that it hasn't turned into Wakanda.

None of that matters. They’ll still blame us for it.

None of this should be surprising.

The current mayor is the latest in a line of do nothing Democrat, African American mayors on the heels of a bunch of poor performing democrat, Caucasian mayors. This has been a prolonged death spiral and the patient (Jackson) is reaching the end of functional life.

Why is there sadness over any of this? The people living in Jackson sought this out, supported and voted for it - for over 50 years. The current mayor is a devout socialist and activist. This level of destruction is what socialist ultimately want as it creates an additional dependence on the government, yet this local government fails in function.

Jackson was a pretty cool city in the late 70s/early-mid 80s. I wonder what changed?

We have been in the Jackson Area (Rankin County) 10 years and are moving next month.
Couldn't be happier to be out. The situation in Hinds county continues to creep to Madison and Rankin.

Detroit is indeed far better than it was. But that's a huge caveat. Detroit filed bankruptcy and had a large degree of outside control by lawyers and banks. They essentially hit the reset button. The debt was rationalized and the city now has money to pay for police and infrastructure.

A similar thing happened in Jefferson County AL (BHM).

I hesitate to call any of this "democrat leadership". It was a lawfirm hired by the courts to come in and hit the reset button. What they did had no reflection on the constituency or voters, and in fact could be seen as a rebuke of such.

Will it last? Who knows. The city has more money to use for safety and infrastructure, but if the voters keep electing the folks that ran the city into the ground, will the cycle just perpetuate? It's a distinct possibility.

But God forbid the state government take any action that would bring a little more security to the SEAT OF THE GOVERNMENT. That would be rayyyyyyyyyyyyycist.

West Helena is worse than Crime Bluff.

The town had in one weekend as many murders as Chicago.

They did elect a white mayor but the only reason is he had to run as a Democrat or the blacks wouldn't vote for him.

This mayor was slowly making some positive changes in the community but one of the council members had other plans and got him out of office. Now he is the mayor.

This individual was a convicted felon who stole money from the treasury.

The city council is the highest paid in the state and yet the other city employees make minimum wage that are underpaid.

That's seriously your take away from the video?

So you too were scared to explore the city? Or are you telling us not to believe our lying eyes?

"In our lifetime we will see an American major metropolitan city that will be under curfew by the national guard with no one in or out until order is restored."

It will be Chicago.

Not just cities. Pick any city, country, or institution in the world that has majority black leadership and majority black population, and I'll show you a third world hellscape that is ripe with violent crime, corruption, and poverty.

That's curious.

Heard that it is also the basis of some discussions in Zimbabwe.

The mayor of Jackson walks out of a room every time the pledge of allegiance is recited because it goes against his socialist beliefs, but runs the city infrastructure into the ground and struts around jive-turkeying it when the feds fork over almost a billion dollars to fix the water system.

This is your new America.

Jackson looks like hell.

I apologize for ever saying Little Rock was ghetto.

It has at least 20 years of solid decline to reach Jackson's shithole status. I mean, it might, eventually. But there are still good areas, and the ghettos at least have paved roads and running water.

Above 10%- 15% or so and I’m guessing the social pathologies become obvious quick. Not that there aren’t shitty all- white areas too, they just tend to be rural.

I’m just leaving Croatia, which has very un-diverse demographics. It is clean and safe. What a wonderful place!

I believe that diversity could be a great advantage but only if there was more personal accountability (jail time for littering; work requirement for welfare; institutionalization for homelessness)
