The scene lasted 2 seconds and then they were trying to kill each other. It was almost a comedic scene.

And underscored how thirsty Lucy was. That she'd been fooling around with her cousin Chet (while contextually understandable) was a little creepy.

Yea it does go against her ultimate character reveal as like “helper of all” that she’s killing a bunch of innocent people in the vault.

And wouldn’t Overseer 33 have recognized her from hundreds of years ago anyway before they went through the wedding.

Seems like there’s a lot unanswered about the vault, hoping that it stays a part of the story even if the show location looks like it’s moving for season 2

So are Maximus and the Elder going to break off from the Brotherhood and start Caesar’s Legion? Would make sense with the names, etc.

I'm guessing Caesar's Legion has already been destroyed (See Fallout: New Vegas).

I'm betting that the canon ending Team-Fallout has chosen, is the one where the Courier ends up empowering Mr. House and defeating both the NCR and Caesars Legion. (see video of possible canon ending: Spoiler possibly)

That is why Hank is heading to New Vegas at the end. To meet up with Mr. House (Who was one of the corporate leaders in the boardroom scene)

With the loss of Hoover Dam and New Vegas, the NCR, overextended, ended up either collapsing shortly after or, the more likely, simply retreating and trying to save what they could of their territory. In the latter, they did lose Los Angeles region after the Shady Sands explosion. But if you take a look at the billboard when they first enter Shady Sands, it says "First Capital". This implies that the capital moved before the Nuking of Shady Sands.

I'm thinking that Moldaver is not the leader of the NCR, just a Military Officer or self-claimed leader of an outpost for the NCR. The NCR likely claims the area, but isn't able to devote much in the way of resources and soldiers.

Another alternative, is the NCR descended into Civil War after the failure of New Vegas, and Moldaver rose as one of many factions trying to represent the "true" NCR.

With the lights turning back on in LA, will the NCR and Brotherhood have a fight over who gets to control Los Angeles? Will the Enclave swoop in as well?

Fun Season 2, I imagine.

What a fantastic show, exceeded my expectations. I don’t think I had any major qualms with the whole season.

The weapons, the violence, the black comedy, the mystery, was all so well done.

Walton Goggins was a master stroke in casing, the Ghoul is such a bad arse.

Can’t wait for death claws and super mutants ahead, hope this show lasts several seasons and keeps up the excellence

They cleaned up his version of the ghouls. The games are more like what Lucy freed at that organ harvesting place. The feral ghouls are straight up 28 Days Later speed zombies.

Also, all the non feral ghouls in the games have the same super scratchy voice. I get their decision with Cooper because no one would want to watch that for 8 episodes.

I saw an interview with Goggins where he said he had no clue that "war...war never changes" was su hna big deal in the games, and more or less asked the interviewer if he did it justice. Was relieved he did it right

LINK

quote:

On the finale: were you aware of the significance of the line “War—war never changes” when you read it? It's a very familiar line from the Fallout games.

I gotta be honest with you, I didn't know that. I had no idea. And I am so happy I didn't know that, because I would have been so intimidated by it.

So no one flagged it with you?

No one flagged me with it. No one told me that it was a line from the game.

It's like, the line. It's the equivalent of “Luke, I am your father.”

[He pauses.] Man, I had no idea. I had no idea. I swear to god. No one ever brought that up to me. No one ever said that. No one ever mentioned it to me.

Give it a little YouTube.

I'm never giving it a YouTube. I don't want to know, you know what I mean? I don't wanna compare it, because then I'd just be doing an impersonation of somebody else saying it.

It's beautifully recontextualized in the show.

Oh, great, okay — if we pulled it off, and you believed it, then there we go. Thank god.

Well, you know, he's evoking the words he heard from the lips of his wife when she essentially sanctioned nuclear genocide.

I can't believe the revelation you just gave me. I don't know how any things that came out of my mouth relate to the game. And thank god. I don't want to know. I mean, it's okay that you're telling me now, because you've already said it. But if you know some of the dialogue from season two, please don't give me a frickin' clue at all. Oh my god, I would have freaked out. I wouldn't have come to work that day.

Another good part:

quote:

We also find out that all this time, The Ghoul has been trying to find his family, who may or may not still be out there. It's a huge reveal.

What was surprising to me, when I read it on the page, even though I had an idea of where it was going… the betrayal that he felt, at understanding that his wife was the principal architect of this entire experience.

I don't know if this was your experience watching it, but the way that the director shot that particular sequence, it was as if I was looking into the camera, looking straight at her, and she was looking at the camera at me. And from her point of view, her argument was righteous. She lays out an idea that is bulletproof in her mind, and it isn't a compromise of morals; this is a reality. And I can never see it that way.

That is clearly the motivation for his staying alive. Why else would he? It has to be something that important. I have an idea in my own head what that means, but is it to seek revenge? Is his daughter alive? I don't know the answer to that question. Is his wife alive? I don't know the answer to that question, either. So is it a reunion? Is it an opportunity to say what you didn't get a chance to say, 200 years earlier? It is so absurd. But god, if you love your child as much as I love mine… I would frickin' hang on for 200 years to look my kid in the eyes again.

And I think about that moment: well, okay, if they are still alive — which no one knows the answer to that question — if that's even a possibility… would he want to see her without her seeing him? And that just moves me emotionally in ways I can't even talk about without tearing up, because of the person he's become. But we're all capable of change. He certainly has changed. And then you can change again.

But it's also 200 years to be haunted by a betrayal.

frick, man. That's a long time. And what were the conversations that happened between that discovery, and where we find Cooper Howard, who is reduced to doing pony rides, and lasso tricks, for backyard parties?

frick the dated graphics and play 3 and New Vegas. The freedom and world is so amazing it doesn’t age. I’d kill to go back and play them for the first time.

Play New Vegas for a teaser to season 2

To be fair, it had been 200 years and they may not have had as much in-person interaction with her then and she did look pretty different in the Ghoul's flashback. Even he was a little confused when he saw her picture on the wanted poster. Hank did recognize her though when he got up close with her.

Like someone mentioned earlier, she wasn't a part of Vault-Tec. Her company got bought out, and there were so many that were frozen that who's to say he ever actually saw her. Plus, if she figured out a way to sneak herself into that program, another reason he wouldn't have recognized her.

Did they show Betty and Stephanie in any flashbacks?

They were out of Vault 31 right?

I don’t remember seeing them.

I think the only ones we actually see is Hank and Bud. And Moldaver.

Betty is the secretary that asks Cooper if he would meet a big fan, Hank.

I missed it the first watch through because I think they used a different actress instead of de-aging her like they did with Hank

GoCrazyAuburn got to it before me

I need to go back and watch the scenes where he is filming the different things for Vault-Tec and see if Stephanie could be one of those people.

My first glance at Betty made me think of Nichelle Nichols.

I didn't catch her name the first time so I guess I'd catch a lot more of them on a rewatch.

Wonder who they will get to play Mr. House?

Robert Downey Jr. would be awesome but they probably can’t afford him

Maybe Jon Hamm or Josh Brolin?
