Funny reading their board as most feel they are acquiring the second coming of Deion Sanders. These same people were flipping out when they signed Dunta Robinson and that turned out well.

They ripped on all our acquisitions, so I'll have sour grapes and rip on their's. He's 31, and wasn't worth the money Philly signed him for. Idiot Falcon fans are saying he's their best corner, but I don't know of many teams who trade away their best corner for a late pick...you know, before they cut him.

So at the Falcons. Brees will carve them up as always and Grimes will try to break the bank as well.

But this is their time! Rise Up!!!

I'd have to see the contract they gave him, but it's a good acquisition for a low round pick. They have good depth now.

The way their fans are talking, they plan on trading Grimes. Or wishful thinking anyway

I'm not gonna poo poo this trade. They're definitely getting a guy with ball skills. I would imagine we'd run right at him because he's not much for tackling.

I will.

And he is not a good tackler so we will run right at him. Good thing is we have so many legit weapons that if they "shut down" one of our guys, we just light him up with another.

And our two home run hitters, Sproles and Graham, won't be covered by him directly.

Any time you add an experianced CB to your team its a good move.
Whether he re-works the contract who knows.
You can't have enough CB's these days expecially going against Drew cam and buckwheat 6 times a season and with your best (grimes) unsigned.

PS
die falcons die!

On the accounting side i am not sure how good the deal is but on the football side it looks like a great pick up.

Against the Saints it isn't as big of a deal since the offense thrives on spreading the ball around which minimizes the impact of a single defender.

However division rivals Tampa Bay (Vincent Jackson) and Carolina (Steve Smith) have offenses that will have a feature guy. If Samuel can effectively cover them it will certainly have a big impact on their defense. The big if is can he do this?

(Theory also works out of division but I didn't think it was relevant on Saints talk)

1) He's a good pickup for Atlanta assuming they don't give anything higher than a 5th or 6th rd pick for him.

2) Grimes just signed his franchise contract yesterday. So IF this deal goes through you'd have Grimes and Asante. Along with DeCoud and probably Dunta this makes a good secondary package. Not the best in the league but definitely improved.

3)

But wait, wasn't Lofton Atlanta's best LB? When the Saints got him it was like y'all raided and pillaged Atlanta and stole him?!
Hi Pot. I iz Kettle.

ETA:
He never looked good last year in Philly so he's either old and lost a few steps, didn't care or they had an odd secondary package with all those "super stars" back there.

Didnt help the eagles much last year, and has had an obvious drop in production. He'll get lost in the mix in ATL...IMO
