I'm not really sure what you're arguing. His production might be greater on another team due to the fact that we spread the ball around so much.

What are you trying to say?

So Moore would be just as good on another team?

His team doesn't affect his skills, only production. Fitz's stats fell off when Warner left, it doesn't stop him from being a top 3 WR in the NFL.

That Moore, as well as many other receivers on the team, are successful due to the Saints system rather than their ability as receivers. I think this is especially apparent with the production of the 3 and 4 receivers. Brees has an innate ability to get through his progressions and find break downs in the defense. Due to this, receivers like Moore and Henderson prosper.

I hate these fricking arguments. Different people are built for different things. If Megatron was used in a pure slot move the chains role, his stats wouldn't be as good either.

No doubt Brees makes them look good, but to discredit Moore is pretty whack. Like someone else said, he had almost 1000 yards in 08 when he had to step up as the main target. Moore is one of the most underrated WRs in entire league. He hardly ever drops a ball, I mean hardly ever.
It's not all about the QB, the receiver still has to make the catch. You can have Tom Brady throwing to you, but Wes Welker still has to make the catch that would have sealed a super bowl win for the Pats this past year.

My argument was that skills wise the guys were a push. Not production, as Moore trumps him in that category. Megatron and Fitz have produced regardless of their QBs.

Just another piece of toast to get burnt in a Falcons uniform, IMO.

He came from New England who used, mainly, a cover-2 scheme when he was there. He was good at it too. He went to Philly and wasn't as productive in the man system, but still formidable. I'm not too worried about him in Atlanta, but its a good move for them. They gave up nothing but aren't pay an outrageous amount for him. However, the fact that Philly was willing to let him go for a 7th is suspect.

I guess my point was it really doesn't matter who they put back there.

It's a great move for the falcons for a 7th round pick. Anyone who doesn't see that is a moron. Atlanta was in a position of strength on this move, that is why it only cost them a 7th rounder. It's not suspect, it's the fact that Philly had to make room in the salary cap. They were paying him way too much over a 2 year span.

Sanchito, in talking about receivers and the passing game in today's NFL, it would be wholly ignorant to discount the Tight End and Running Back. That's why bringing up Graham and Sproles in a necessary evaluation if you're comparing receiving prowess between the Saints and the Dirty Birds.

Falcons acquisition of Samuel>>Saints signing Lofton.

Samuel is getting older but is still a solid corner and those are needed in a predominantly passing league. Lofton is a great run stopper but has horrible pass coverage skills

Samuel is great in zone not so great in man. Also not the surest tackler.

I wouldnt put so many "greater than" symbols in there.

Lots of teams still run and Lofton is an every down player. He was on the field like 95% of the time last year or something.

ComicTiger, we were not talking about the passing game but comparing receiving corps. There is no doubt the Saints are better at TE and the RB positions.

All about the money. It was either get a 7th or cut him and get nothing. They wanted to free up cap space b/c he was overpaid.

Falcons got a steal. He's good, not great, but it's a great move for them. They needed the depth and can now move Robinson to nickel or even safety if they wanted.
