Let’s break it down further

Only 0.11% of people in Louisiana has tested positive

Not only do we have two separate posters know personally 2 people out of this astronomically low percentage, the 4 people infected are absolute statistical outliers

40 year old perfectly healthy death
16 years old perfectly healthy on ventilator
20 year old perfectly healthy almost died
40 year old chain smoker who had no issues

I honestly don’t know what the statistical probability out of the 0.11% of Louisiananins who have it, we would then have two posters that know the extreme outliers listed above

Maybe a 0.0000000011% chance?

This is the difference in this virus versus the flu.

What? The flu is much more likely to kill young people with no underlying conditions. The main difference between this virus and the flu is that this is much more contagious - probably due mostly to the fact that it’s new, and there is little public immunity.

The truth

Is if you are healthy you will absolutely very likely have no problem with this virus

If you aren’t healthy, you absolutely have a far greater chance of having issue. This isn’t controversial

That goes without saying on most issues. The problem is that too many people on this board are still in denial over the severity of this virus. They keep dismissing it with ignorant arguments like: the flu has killed more people, only unhealthy people are dying, etc. And it's typically the same people that love pointing out the abundance of obesity in this country without recognizing that it one of the reasons this needs to be treated seriously.

The truth is: downplaying the severity of the virus is causing people (old, young, healthy, unhealthy) to go out about their normal day which is putting them AND others at risk. Someone doesn't deserve to die from this shite virus b/c they are fat or old. It's a tired fricking argument on this board. Every time someone posts about someone under 50 or 60, everyone immediately runs in the thread hoping the person had underlying conditions as if that makes it any easier for the family to deal with. It makes it easier for the sociopaths on this board to justify their position of not giving a frick about other people. Sociopaths don't give a shite about anyone and they are coming out of hiding lately. It's pretty fricking disturbing.

Far far far far far more likely you don’t know someone than do

And if you do know someone, the chance of knowing two is astronomically low

And if you happen to somehow know two, the chances those two are perfectly healthy 40 year old that dies and a perfectly healthy 16 year old that goes on a vent is a number so low it’s hard for anyone who does data for a living to beleive

The truth is, lying about knowing 16 year olds on vents and perfectly healthy 40 year olds dying etc etc causes people to backlash against that and become more staunch people are overplaying this

Better for you sure

If you are under 10 and healthy the flu for whatever reason is more troublesome

I don't think that is correct.

ETA: Just looked it up. The historical death rate from seasonal flu for 18-49 year olds in about .02%. The death rate for COVID-19 in this age group is .2%. This means COVID is ten times more deadly for young people than the seasonal flu.

I doubt that, especially if you live in a metro area.

Just personally, I directly know six positive cases with one death and then know of an additional two who are friends/family members of my friends.

0.3% of the New Orleans metro has tested positive

Still statistically very more likely you don’t know someone that tested positive, as only 3 out of everyone 1,000 New Orleans metro people have tested positive

So for you to know 6 people is extremely on the statical anomaly side of things

When he said young people I surely wasn’t thinking of people up to 49

Are you a hermit?

You think it's crazy that people know 2,000 people? (Statistically, that would mean you likely know 6 people infected)
