Shame on the people who are trying to find anything negative on the man who passed. Apparently if you’re not ripped, young, and, handsome than you’re prone to die to the disease. What a bunch of losers

A few shifts ago I brought a guy under 30, perfect health, no hx of medical problems. Looked like a marathon runner, with diarrhea, fever, shortness of breath. He went to shite, sent to icu, tested positive and damn near didn’t make it, he did survive.
An acquaintance of mine, mid 40s, smokes 2 packs a day, HTN, tested positive and didn’t have many issues at all. Only reason he got tested was b/c he is in healthcare. He said he was 100% over it by the time the results came back but staying quarantined

Am I the only ones who is tired of this garbage? Who gives a frick how old they were or if they “had any underlying conditions.” They’re dead from complications from coronavirus. Probably wouldn’t be dead if this virus wasn’t a reality.
Yes. You are right.

In this thread alone we have a guy who knows a perfectly healthy 16 year old on a ventilator
In this thread alone we have a guy who knows a perfectly healthy sub 30 year old who almost died
Amazing the statistical chances of this

Didn’t read the second part at first. Let’s pretend what you said is true(it’s not), but let’s say you truly personally know of these two scenarios. It means jack shite
The truth
Is if you are healthy you will absolutely very likely have no problem with this virus
If you aren’t healthy, you absolutely have a far greater chance of having issue. This isn’t controversial

I wonder if he had a heart attack or something or if the doctor just sent him home because he was younger. Seems strange that the doctor would think he was in the clear basically and then he suddenly passes.
I've been doing some readings and talked with our infectious disease guy and he said pulmonary embolisms and heart attacks are becoming common with this now.

Sorry to hear that. My guesses on this stuff
- Anyone can be killed by this, the same way anyone can get severe pneumonia and die.
- It's not common for that to happen to reasonably healthy young people, and it's not common here. It's especially uncommon for people in half-decent health.
- You're hearing about almost every death in the country that involves a younger, decently healthy person. It's media sensationalism (which is responding to our desire to know) but it's not reflective of the average severe case and quite rare among deaths.
- There are probably thousands and thousands of fat, out of shape Americans in mediocre health who've already recovered from this.
- Keep in mind that even older people with serious underlying issues (excluding run of the mill obesity or such) are surviving this at a pretty good clip.
For those curious, the Georgia DPH has a running list of fatalities and where known, lists age and underlying health issues (doesn't tell you which issue).
