I'm just trying to figure out if this turns on its ear the idea that these unsuccessful GOP congressional/senate elections are a referendum on Trump

It's a referendum on MAGA.

The question is where Trump ends and MAGA begins. As with most thing within the Patriot demographic, they won't commit to a single answer.

Is there any percentage you would assign to the Arizona GOP in general, or nah?

Making it even more difficult for a republican to win.

Dumb, but expected.

Is that why she's unpopular?

Yeah, I have no idea what this possibly means.

It's why she is in the race instead of someone that could win.

Patriots will often say a version of "The movement is bigger than Trump" on the one hand. That movement is "MAGA".

Kari Lake = MAGA, not Trump.

However, Patriots will also say that "Trump is the movement" when it suits them. It moves "MAGA" or "America First" into the same nebulous status as other malleable rhetoric devices they use like "globalism".

Maricopa is going to take care of Trump and Lake.

Right. So, it's like the flip side of saying that EVERY unsuccessful candidate who one might somehow "tie" to Trump, is TRUMP'S FAULT. As if the GOP never lost elections until he came along.

Republicans aren’t the ones allowing 10+ million people into the country. So, if you are a democrat and don’t like the invasion of illegals and you don’t vote for a Republican then You are a fricking idiot

You suck at mind reading

Either change the system or find a better candidate.

I am saying it's not "Trump's" fault, but it is MAGA's fault.

I believe MAGA is more than just Trump, especially after the 2022 election Ls and what happened to RDS in the primary season.

To me, this is more of a warning for a post-Trump reality for MAGA. People do not like non-Trump MAGA candidates at anywhere near the same rate they like/tolerate Trump.

I would vote for her in a heartbeat, but she just doesn’t seem to garner that much support. I hope she can turn it around.

Is there really a big enough sample size of these to make such a blanket determination?

I'm not even quite clear as to who we are describing as a "MAGA candidate," but I don't deny that Lake strikes me as someone who seems to have glommed onto him.

Lake is not MAGA...I am not sure what that point is about. I'm fairly certain she voted for Hillary.

This is an inconvenient truth that many have not or may not ever accept.

We've had 3 major election cycles (2018, 2020, 2022) as well as off-year election cycles (2021 in particular) since Trump won in 2016.

Do you think the reason is that deep down people believe that Trump is kidding a bit and being playful but others in the MAGA realm are dead serious?
