Everything is over sensationalized today by idiots on social media and the media desire for public attention. S. La had a 99.78% totality in May 1984. Sure, the local new reported on it maybe a week before advising how to observe it. Other than that it was a nothing burger other than having to turn your headlights on in the middle of the day for a few minutes.
There was no mass histeria, no work shutdowns, no eclipse tourism. How the public has become so gullible that everything is some must see event is unknown to me. I hope all these people feel really stupid when they realize they spent all this time and money on a 4 minute event that leaves them with a big huh defeated feeling.
