We only went out maybe once a month as a kid.

It's once a week for us for dining out, but we pick up food from restaurants or little delis and such a few times a week as well.

Then
Once a week, maybe.

Now
More than that, depends on week, though.

Growing up, probably once a week. But it was at much different places than I eat now.

Currently, we probably go to dinner or get takeout 2-3 times per week.

Sunday after church. Sometimes twice during a week, but not often.

Maybe once a month and usually at Shoneys. One other day a month we might get a bucket of KFC takeout. And that my friends was a good day.

Side note, didn't grow up in an area where Popeyes existed.

Maybe 1 times every 1-2 months when I was a kid. Probably 3-5 times in that period if you include fast food.

Now, probably 15 times a month. Almost no meals besides breakfast do we eat at home Fri-Sun, but we only eat 1 meal post-breakfast on those days usually late lunch/early dinner.

About once or twice a year as a kid, more when we were on vacation. My dad would take my brother and I out for steak when we went Christmas shopping for my mom. He liked to eat at Pizza Hut and Bonanza or Ponderosa on vacation.

Mrs and I eat out at least two dinners per week but are scaling back, prices are ridiculous.

About once a month on Wednesday nights. It was at the local restaurant my sister worked at. It was all you can eat fried fish night.

The only time I would get McDonalds was when I would go to my aunt's house who would always take me there. Other than that, the only time we went to McDonalds would be on a Sunday evening during the summer to get an ice cream.

There was a place in Vidalia called the fish fry probably 30 years ago that was there until I went to college. We would go there damn near every Saturday night for years when I was a kid. God damn they had AWESOME fried catfish. Actual catfish, they didn’t just call it that and then give you some Asian trash fish.

That’s the kind of place I look for if I am on the road. I tip the waitress before hand to get a pitcher of tea for my table and to keep the fish coming. Whole. Been years though.

When I was in college they had some black folks that had a lunch counter. Since I brought her ducks, rabbits , coons and fish they would always feed me for free.

An actual sit down restaurant? 3-4 times per month, usually after church on Sundays. Even then, the bill may have only been like $25-$30 for a family of 5 (my two younger sisters always split an entree)

Anything else, my mom cooked or we would grab a few $1 burgers/sandwiches from a value menu somewhere after an evening event/outing.

ETA: I eat out probably 4-5 times a week (mostly for lunch during work hours). I usually cook my own dinners at home unless I'm out for the evening with friends (which isn't often these days )

It wouldn't even be so bad if the quality wasn't absolute crap these days. It costs so much more and the food is just shite.

At most, once per year, and even then, it was Piccadilly. My mother cooked every day. When I went to LSU, I had no idea how to conduct myself in a restaurant that wasn't Piccadilly.

We eat out every single meal. The only time we cook each year is Thanksgiving day
