Our debt growth is on trajectory to hit $50 trillion by 2030 ...... lets be optimistic and assume avg debt cost is 4.5% ..... thats $2.25 trillion in debt ..... keep in mind SS and Medicare are both flipping to outlays of cash vs inflows they have been forever and we'lll have to start issuing UST to cover that 'off balance sheet' outflow of money for both
iinterest could easily hit $3 trillion by then
lets put this in perspective : US govt is currently spending $6+ trillion and taking in $4 trillion in tax revs .. now add $3tln

Abolish the IRS and implement a VAT. The more you consume, the more you pay. Simple. Fair.

Frick our system, and abolish the IRS.
I guess government wouldn't need as much if we weren't giving illegals free shite and passing out EIC and welfare to millions of degenerate lowlife pieces of shite.
Rant over.

It's usually the lower middle class crying about the very paltry taxes they actually pay

Genuinely curious what you propose/mean by this? We already pay a consumption tax via sales tax.

Nola tiger has likely never had to pay federal income tax. Rude awakening coming soon.

Everyone would be up in arms without the whole withholding scheme. Imagine having to send a check to the IRS every time you get paid.

In dec of 2019 the money supply was lower than it is now. It’s pretty easy to fact check this lie you are telling.

You think companies will benevolently pay in the VAT each period.
It is hilarious how some of you in one breath bitch and moan about the national debt an in the next breath say AbOlIsH tHe IrS.
You realize you want to abolish the entity responsible for collecting the revenues and enforcing the tax laws.
Are you going to create a new agency, The VAT Collection Department, to oversee your new revenue program?

True, but it was still growing.
2020 was a trial run of MMT.
