Acting Navy Secretary Thomas Modly resignedTuesday as lawmakers pressured President Donald Trump to take action

Modly caused a fire storm when he flew 8,000 miles to Guam to launch a tirade against fired Captain Brett Crozier to his crew on the USS Theodore Roosevelt

Modly told sailors their fired captain was 'naive' and 'stupid'

He absolutely should. What he did was absolutely disgusting. I hope this follows him the rest of his life.

This is what our cancel culture brings us. People in the military, who should not be affected by bullshite, can't rail on their reports because our communist propaganda press pushes the agenda of their handlers well. Why do you think Trump is having to fight them every day. The press needs to be waterboarded. Press has no business forcing our military to do anything. Maybe 80 years ago when they somewhat sought the truth, but not now when they report to China.

I think Trump had it right yesterday. Mistakes were made by the Captain and Secretary of Navy. But that doesn’t mean their careers should be ruined.

I listened to the entire soundcloud of his speech to the crew and aside for an off-color word here or there, it was inspiring, brilliant, and clear. I'm not a military man, so I'm not up to speed on protocols, but as acting secretary, he seemed appropriate to me.

You don't have to disagree with the Crozier letter to know what he did was wrong. That's what's getting lost in the media's zeal to make everything a referendum on Trump.

I don’t think the captain will ever command another carrier either.

He will just quietly never be heard from again along with this Modly fellow.

Exactly. Can you imagine China firing a military leader because he said something mean about a guy that was properly fired?

Characters that our culture finds unsavory are nevertheless needed to do the dirty jobs.

You should watch this speech by Victor Davis Hanson.

He is a political position, not a military leader. What he did was opposite of leadership. He was good up to the point when he flew half way around the world to show sailors his arse.

Just one more leap into the pussification of the Military.

Pretty soon know nothing Enlisted ratings will demand a seat on the JCS.

I don't disagree with his opinion about Captain Crozier. But he should have kept that shite to himself. There was no reason to get in front of Crozier's former crew and say it.

Moldy was right in firing CAPT Crozier. He was absolutely wrong in talking down about him to his former crew.

CMDCM and his staff need to be replaced ASAP. This is an enlisted problem.

I think that part of it is being overblown a bit. He was using Crozier as a cautionary tail for breaking COC or using the media to highlight internal problems. He might have been a little gruff, but shite... Its an aircraft carrier filled with trained killers. He used the better part of the back half of his speech taking responsibility and asking that they "hate" him personally for the decision, but carry on their mission.

And what qualifications did Modly even have to be in this position? He flew a helicopter. And he was a Trump donor.

Nonsense. This problem was created by the former skipper.
