The game has changed. Many attorneys charge for the services now only and the retainer comes when they are activated. That's how mine works, but he is not a criminal defense attorney.

good advice for after you are forced to shoot. another good piece of advice my CC instructor gives is to go to extreme measures to avoid having to shoot if possible. if you have a way out, take it. don't be too proud to walk away.

An ambulance will take you to the hospital in a shooting incident and you are the shooter. I looked into it.

I'm an instructor and I've thought more about this than most.
I don't care what the circumstances for the shooting are, the police are going to arrive and they're going to disarm you.
You can allow that to happen, or you can shoot them out of some misguided interpretation of your rights after a self-defense encounter.

Be a hard arse about it all you want, but if you ever find yourself in a situation like this, you sure as hell aren't just "going home" after shooting someone. It doesn't matter how right you are.

They certainly will take to you a hospital, as you'll likely have hearing damage or cannot hear at all temporarily, plus whatever bumps, bruises and cuts result from the scuffle. You'll be in shock from the confrontation, your vision will be impaired (tunnel vision), you'd be foolish not to go to a hospital. Once your fight or flight instincts kick in, rational thought goes out the window.
It seems like most of y'all refuse to realize such a confrontation is all going to occur in the space of about 10 feet or less over a very short period of time. You're not going to be shooting at guys from the distance of a target at the gun range.
If you've ever been in a fight (as an adult) or mugged, multiply that by about 1,000 and add weapons, to think you're walking home, as if your Sunday walk was rudely interrupted, or giving clear-headed statements to a district attorney while your ears are ringing & bleeding, are a little unrealistic.

Well, here you go, highlighting your lack of understanding, about most of middle America. My wife could fix my lunch and bring it to me, before the police show up. I suppose I could wait until my unfortunate advisory's family show up for revenge, they would be there before the police.

My plan would be to have 911 already on the line before I act, if possible. That way, I’ve got a witness that at least hears everything that’s going on. The forensics of the scene can back up the rest.
I’m talking in the event of a home invasion, that is.
